VEAS has a total of 48 basins in its wastewater treatment plants, 40 of wich are under rehabilitation. Eight rehabilitations are complete. Significant mechanical wear is caused by LECA pellets rubbing against the walls, in addition to chemical exposure at the surface.

After removing damaged concrete and returning the basins to their original dimensions and capacities using dry-mix shotcrete, the basins were coated with Micorea S3. This is a chemical-resistant coating with extremely good durability. These characteristics, combined with short cure time, made it possible to quickly return the basins to use, a critical requirement considered in the choice of Elmico products.

Norconsult was responsible for the spesifications, and BMO was the contractor responsible for rehabilitation of the 40 basins currently under rehabilitation and the eight already complete.
